Creating STEAM and Making Spaces with METC

How is it that we’re already in the final countdown for the current school year??  Seems incredible, but as our eyes turn to summer time, there’s a wealth of PD opportunities for educators.   One of the ones I’m looking forward to is the METC Summer Institute:  Creating STEAM and Making Spaces.   Official description is

Making, coding, designing and more…this two day event is for the creative and innovative educator, as well as those content teachers of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) and the Arts. This will be a fantastic gathering of tech enthusiasts, makers, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, and students. Local organizations and vendor presentations will be shared as well. Talented STEAM “makers” will come together to share at our two day Summer Institute. Krissy Venosdale and Steve Dembo will help us kick off the event & several midwest STEM & Maker educators will share what they have learned, and how they make innovative projects and complete engaging activities in their flexible spaces. All educators interested in supporting the Maker Movement and STEAM in our schools should attend.

I’ll be one of the featured speakers, along with the Innovation Coordinator for Kinkaid School, Krissy Venosdale.

If you’re in the St. Louis area, bring a laptop, bring a tablet, and join us for two fantastic days of making and learning!   Hope to see you there.
