		<description>Ok Steve- here are some numbers for your data file. I have said complementary things about this little project before. Tonight I am going to skip all of the pleasantries first, and go straight to the numbers. Honestly, I don&#039;t have much to compare this to, so here&#039;s hoping many of you will be able to help me put this in perspective a bit here

-but-

I don&#039;t know if in 30 days I am all that much &quot;better&quot; as a blogger... but I sure do have a different set of traffic stats that would suggest that someone cares.

Check this out, back on Day #2 of the challenge, you asked us to &quot;play in traffic.&quot; ;-) I did that very thing in an entire post here: http://snurl.com/70c48

So, in comparison with the Google Analytics stats one month later, it shows these things...

(I began tracking on August 15th):

-On day #2 of the challenge, I had recorded a total of 407 visits to the blog from 198 &quot;absolute unique visitors.&quot;

-As of tonight, I have recorded a total of 1468 visits from 671 unique visitors.

-Average pageviews per visit is a bit higher now.

-Average time spent on site is also a bit higher now.

So really- if you look at those percentage gains over 30 days... I&#039;d say that is pretty exciting. It is certainly true that starting as low as those numbers were, it makes sense to see big gains if you aren&#039;t making folks too terribly mad. But 198 vs. 671 unique visitors in a month? That seems almost amazing.

So hey- even the numbers work out. A massive chunk of solid education of any kind is encouragement. Thanks for grabbing an arm and helping me up. I am way better off than when I started.

Sean
