I blog to make writing less scary for my students, and I blog to inspire them to see the connections between the literature we read in class and their lives! They are writing twice as much, and each quarter, another one or two of them admits they like what we are reading--even Chaucer!

Thanks Steve, for this series. Your challenges are do-able, and I am getting a name for myself at school!

I'm new to blogging and actually posted why I blog one day before this post came out. Maybe I'm psychic!?! Anyway, one reason I left off my list is because I enjoy seeing new red dots appear on my Clustr Maps. How fun to know that what I say matters in the life of another human being.

I could have listed a solid ten reasons or more. -especially after my final two-hour lawn mowing revival on sunday-

However, I decided to simply add the final synthesis at the end of my last post.

Why Do I Blog?

1. To put a voice to my thoughts.
2. To have a sounding board to either keep me on track or push me back in the right direction.
3. To share my hopes, passions, and goals with bringing "CREATIVITY" back into the classroom through projects.
4. Because for so long NO ONE would listen.
5. To help teachers who want to start simple have a place to go that won't overwhelm.
6. To call attention to people & other bloggers who need to be noticed!
7. To extend the conversation from another post when a comment is NOT enough.
8. To knee jerk at times and then to reflect.
9. Because if I didn't, I think I would implode.

Thanks Steve.

ps....I am working on another blog post right now so wanted to drop my thoughts here. I will come back later to grab them for my own blog.
:)
