Thank you for sharing. I’ve lately signed up for Bluehost and since I’m newbie I really don’t know how to use all its features perfectly. Everyday I search on the web and study different reviews and tutorials to get more about my available facilities. So far I’m happy with their services. Especially their help center and support team are perfect. Thank you again for sharing your experience and knowledge.

I’m brand new to the hosting/blogging game (just signed up with bluehost and started writing a couple weeks ago), and so far I’m very impressed. For some reason I couldn’t get either bluehost or my blog to open for about 30 mins today, but other than that, a great experience and great bargain.

Heh, I too have made the move to Bluehost and I’m pretty happy. I feel bad letting you know but if you’re really tight for cash and you can’t help Steve out you could get hosting for $4.95 a month instead of the normal $6.95 with their promo they are running in a few select locations. http://www.bestofthewebhosts.com/blog/?p=52 Basically you just have to use that link to get the deal – but really the extra two bucks isn’t going to kill anyone.

I use BlueHost too, but I prefer HostNexus because they can give me more unique class c ip addresses.

I wish this would have been posted a week ago. I’m going with 1and1.com for now. It’s cheap and seems to do what I’m hoping for. If it turns out to not meet my needs, I’ll be moving in this direction. For now, I just have my imcguy blog there, but hope to expand on that down the road.

The domain transfer is the easiest part. If it’s registered at OneWorldHosting, then Bluehost can handle the transfer. If it’s registered at something like GoDaddy, just change where the DNS servers point to. Not too painful at all.

As to moving your site, just depends on what you’ve got there that you need to move. You probably have it right though. Export databases, transfer all the files, tweak a few settings and then relaunch.

I may be convinced to switch — any idea how tricky moving a site / domain would be? It looks like you are getting more functionality and product for your buck than I am at oneworldhosting.com .

I suppose it would not be too bad – export my databases, copy my files and voila. Now the domain transfer i’ve not done before.
