You can take this as a social commentary on the way we teach foreign languages here in the states, or just sit back and enjoy it. Either way, I think you’ll get a kick of this video Larry Anderson shared with me at NECC.
¡Ay, qué divertido! And even funnier because you got it from Larry. I think that was one of my former Spanish students, BTW.

That video is hilarious! Thanks so much for sharing. I think I sounded like that (and maybe still do) even after 4 years of high school Spanish. Guess I need more conversation practice.
How do you say “lol” in Espanol?
I had the real-life experience of teaching music in a few bilingual schools in Philadelphia, and let me tell you, “book Spanish” doesn’t come close to teaching the conversational skills needed to really make use of it in the real world.
This speaks volumes! Thanks for sharing!

Hello DEN friends
I think this video is funny and one of my 6th grade students showed it to me privately during a recess. You will not believe what hapened next!! My principal came running in and told me to turn it off because she feels the video makes fun of hispanic people! I tried to explain that it is really about how spanish 101 does not really give the skills needed to communicate. Maybe she was sensitive about that too as she was a spanish teacher. My student loved it because it actually was all the spanish she had been learning.
Good thing I always preview before I show a class!
BTW-Steve, the students and I have had fun making videos this year. Thanks!
This video is really funny! Maybe is not so useful to learn a language but I’m sure the people who watch it will never forget the words the man in the video says.
If you are interested in practicing any language in babelyou you can find a language partner to do so!
