Talk about throwback. Definitely reminds me of some of the MUDS that I used to troll around in. It's funny though, with all of the new web 2.0 chat applications out there, my online gaming guild still used IRC as their primary source for chat communications. Nothing better than /me smacks %%t around with a trout!

800 baud? I wish! I had a smokin' hot 300 baud modem. I could type faster :-)

You kids and your gigabit ethernet LANs... Back in my day, we sent IP packets by carrier pigeon, and we liked it.

I'm far too young to roll with you people when it comes to remembering ASCI art in it's prime and 800 baud modems. I do however, have fond memories of playing Trade Wars via a local BBS system on my Packard Bell and my 14400 modem.

Mine is loading up ProComm Plus on my old 8088 with a CGA card (had to be an early color adopter, right?!) and dialing into Moonshae, which later became Galacticomm BBS. They had like 4 lines, WHOA!

Man, old school. I remember my first 8088, totally monochrome. Thanks for the good reminiscience.
