Quick, poll your students and send Darren the results

Darren Drape is working on gathering some real world data about the number of students that currently have access to mobile devices like cell phones. He’s asking people to take a quick poll of their students to find out how many of them have such access, and then to report in the numbers. He’s sharing the results in a Google Spreadsheet.

So take a few minutes at the end of class and gather some data for him. I know I’m really curious to see the results myself.

THis message is for Darren Drape. Please contact me ASAP. I am a schoolteacher from Page (Lake Powell) Arizona. I use many of the items in your phenominal video. I have a helloworld account (Kinda Like MySpace meets YouTube (or TeacherTube) meets yahoo. I have been using this technology for the past two years. I am also using streaming media (Video Podcasts, Video Blogging, Video Broadcasting, Video IM, and Video Email) in my class for communication between teachers, parents, and children. When I saw your video “Pay Attention” I was completely floored! I simply must speak to you about what I do in my class, and possibly involving your video. I will podcast it (with you getting any and all credit, of course). Go to http://www.helloworld.com/cserventi and click on the podcast icon on the left. I will be linking your blog to the podcast, and hopefully you will be receiving some comments on your fantastic video. Please contact me when you receive this, as I am very excited to hear from you and collaborate.

Respectfully,

Chuck Serventi
