I get emails for people who want to do link exchanges all the time. That’s no big deal. But the one I got this morning really caught my eye.
Hello,
I have an education related blog -
XXXXXXXXX.org/blog and would like to exchange
posts with you. I offer article exchange - you post
a review for my site - minimun 200 words with 3
in-text links for my
website, and I post a review for your site - minimum
200 words with 3 in-text links to your website.
Content must be unique. If you have some other terms
on how to arrange article exchange, please, do not
hesitate to write me back.
The URL caught my eye. Let’s just say that it sounded more like a sales pitch than an EduBlog, so I followed the link along. Low and behold, it’s a site where you can get custom term papers written by ‘PhD and MBA Writers’ in exchange for a nominal fee.
Whenever I get an email like that, I always wonder whether an individual sent it truly expecting me to write a review for them? Or whether it was just spray and pray, figuring that if they email enough people somebody would be bound to take them up on it.
Regardless, I’ll have to take a pass. Unless it comes with a free subscription to TurnItIn.com
