Sony PSP’s in the classroom!
Thanks to a tip from Mr. Belshaw, I learned about a teacher who is really walking the walk when it comes to using gaming devices in the classroom.
Teachers at Maplesden Noakes School in the UK are using the Sony PSP in the classroom for a variety of educational purposes. By taking advantage of the built in aggregator, they are distributing media via RSS and students are able to watch it on the phenomal PSP screen. They’re also converting Powerpoint slides so that they can be viewed on the PSP, something I’ve done myself. It’s a fantastic way to review an upcoming presentation on a bus, in a cab or while flying. The battery life is great and you can really see the details and text.
While the blog doesn’t have a huge number of posts, it’s pretty clear that they aren’t just thinking about doing this, they’re really jumping in feet first. How very very cool!

That’s such a good idea. I’m trying to figure out for myself if a Nintendo DS could be used for blogging and podcasting. I know it has a built in browser and microphone, but I have high hopes.
