Oh what a NECC it's been

add

Three days may not seem like a very long time.  But contrary to what you may believe, NECC is definitely not a sprint; it’s a marathon.  And if you’ve ever participated in or watched a marathon, then you know how people look after they’ve crossed that finish line.  That’s exactly how I feel right now.  To be honest, I probably look like it too.  The majority of my time was spent under the auspices of the Discovery logo, working the booth or ‘flying’ around the floor.

The remaining time was spent hanging out with educators and participating in DEN functions.  For a full report of the DEN side of things, visit the National blog. While I may be a little tired and distracted, I wanted to share a few highlights and memorable experiences from the conference.  So the next few posts are going to highlight some a few of them.

I’m continually blown away by how many ‘fans’ of unitedstreaming stopped by the booth.  Maybe once you’ve done booth duty for a few years it ceases to become so notable, but every time a teacher runs up to the booth and says, “I don’t really have anything to ask you, I just wanted to let you know that I love using unitedstreaming in my class” I kind of get chills.  It’s great to work for a company that teachers feel so attached to.  The down side of booth duty was spending the first few hours of the conference wearing the wings.  Just when I thought I might be able to make it through my shift without anyone I knew seeing me, I had to run into Will. When he saw me with the wings on, he was more excited than a kid in a candy shop (or a teacher in the Apple store).  *sighs*  A college education doesn’t go as far as it used to I guess.
