It’s been about three or four days since I went through the aggregator. And I am like so totally behind on all the news. Ok, seriously though, I really do feel like I’m way behind. In particular, the two biggest ones are Yahoo buying del.icio.us and the Google Earth beta for OSX being created and leaked.
Yahoo is quickly becoming a major player in the Web 2.0 arena and jumping lightyears ahead of Google in several key areas. Acquiring del.icio.us and flickr shows a serious dedication to syndication and push technology. Throw the addition of an aggregator into Yahoo Mail on top of RSS feeds in My Yahoo and you have a company that’s obviously decided that syndication is the future of the internet. Major kudos to Yahoo. Now they need an education division to make it all child safe and friendly.
As to Google Earth, Yahoo doesn’t have an answer to that one yet. I attended a webinar about it yesterday and will more than likely be podcasting about it very soon. So having an OSX version of it in the works is huge. I got more to say about the topic, but you’ll have to wait for the podcast. Consider it a teaser!
