Hi! I was just reading your blog and thought I would post a ling to my district's technology director's blog. Miguel is into podcasting and using open source software whenever possible. I definitely consider him an expert in this area and is a great resource to consult. He has posted several podcasts in his blog from the TCEA 2006 this past week in Austin. The link to the podcast post is: http://www.edsupport.cc/mguhlin/blog/archives/2006/02/entry_1142.htm. Check it out and talk with for more information.

Which software did you finally say you liked the best on XP for creating podcasts? I think we have a few dollars let to get spend and we need something that works on XP desktops. Off the record--What podcasting software do you recommend?

Steve,

Say it isn't so! I just downloaded Google Earth for the Mac, and am wasting incredible amounts of time flying around the globe.

Concerning notifying teachers about new content on the site, why not replicate bloglines on your web site. Create a web based aggregate, walk teachers through setting up and account, or integrate that into their registration on your site, and give them one stop shopping for Discovery news and opportunities. Then, slyly start teaching them to subscribe to content from other sources, other bloggers, and then news, and news searches, and delicious feeds, and ... well, just an idea.

2¢ Worth...
