The Edublog Awards 2005 have been announced. I think the hard part is going to be narrowing down my nominations to two per catgory. There’s so many good blogs out there that should be recognized.
The best part about the awards are that they let you know about the blogs you should be checking out but didn’t know about yet. It’s a great ‘hit list’ for peopel who are new to the edublogosphere.
“Should” be checking? From what I can see, the blogosphere is self-referential: everyone subscribes to blogs that reflect thei own worl view: so where do the new ideas come from?
I’ve certainly come across a lot of new ideas and opinions in the course of managing the awards. The blogoshere isn’t necessarily any more self-referential than life offline – I know many people who safely immerse themselves in the known in their lives, avoiding anything that looks too different. It’s a mind-set rather than a product of blogging!
