Nothing worse to me than being forced to do something for hours that would take a few minutes to understand. I had a early literacy class where we had to read book aloud to each other repeatedly throughout each class. The goal was not to make us better readers or to work on some sort of skill. I think the professor just enjoyed hearing childrens books read aloud. It nearly drove me crazy. I hate being read to and I hate wasting time. Give me the information and let me get moving.

This SMART program sounds a little like a program we sort of did at my old school. It had to do with auditory processing speed and a computer game with headphones that was supposed to improve the processing rate. It didn't go to well. It was done during tutoring time after school and attendance was pretty hit or miss. It is an interesting idea and I like the theory behind it. Be sure to let us know how this program goes.
