Ok, this is indicative of how crazy life has been lately. I recorded a podcast last Wednesday and I’m just now getting around to uploading it. Yikes! So here is a podcast almost a week stale now, but still just as juicy. I’d love to give you a great writeup of what’s included but to be honest, I don’t remember too many of the gory details!
I’m off to Minneapolis today for a workshop that my new school is sending me to. Sounds fantastic, here’s the description:
The S.M.A.R.T. curriculum stimulates high levels of pre-academic development among all children, from those at risk for failing due to receiving too little early stimulation through those fully prepared for academic learning. Topics include: (a) the physiology of the brain; (b) the impact of stimuli on brain development; (c) how to assess a child¹s development; and (d) methods for teaching reading and printing that are grounded in the physiology of brain development.
Sounds good, eh? Great way to start off at a new school. I’ll be going with a first grade teacher as well. Everyone else is going next month but I’ll be at the Building Learning Communities conference. I plan on blogging as well as podcasting from the hotel room. What are the odds that they have free wifi? Pretty slim methinks!
