It's cute, but as I'm not a Mac guy, I have to grit my teeth at the overly cute-ness of Apple products. When your biggest seller is an MP3 player and you have shrunk down your computer to basically a shoebox that gets so hot you have to wonder what temperature it takes for spontaneous combustion, you know why they have 5% of the market.
But then again, I bought Beta over VHS. :)

I use it as my homepage. From that same start page, you can type in "teach42" and then hit return to do a regular google search. You can type in Chicago Cubs and click on the Images icon to do an images search. YOu can type in "“1060 W. Addison, Chicago, IL" and click on the maps icon to pull up a map to Wrigley Field. Type in "Motorola Razr" and click on the Froogle icon to do a Froogle search for it.

Basically what I love about it is I don't need to go to images.google.com, maps.google.com, froogle.com, news.google.com and so on. I have one search bar and then just click on the appropriate icon to do the search that I want. Convenient to have them all together in one place. In my opinion that is!

O.k., I'll admit it.

I don't "get" GoogleX.

What's the big deal about it? The little icons are nice - they action like the dock in OSX - but all of the links seem to goto actual google sites.

What am I missing here?
