What do Google and OSX have in common?
They both had a dock. Google has a new ‘beta’ front page that has a dock-like system with nearly all the Google tools on it. Included are Web Search, Images, Groups, News, Froogle, Local, Scholar, Video, Maps, and Labs. I just love fact that I can type whatever I want into the search bar and then click on the tool that I want to actually use. So I can type in “American Flag” and then click on the Images icon to search Google Images, or type in “1060 W. Addison, Chicago, IL” and click on Maps to have Wrigley Field pulled up in Google Maps.
So I’ve got a new homepage for now. Oh yeah, I also like the quote at the bottom “Roses are red. Violets are blue. OS X rocks. Homage to you.”
Update: Unfortunately, Google took it down. Not sure why, but now I’m back to the regular ol’ Google search page as my home page. So if you missed it, here’s a screenshot for you to see what it looked like.

- Why no Safe Search for Google Video?
- Google Maps, meet Keyhole
- DIY URL Shrinking: We don’t need no stinkin’ TinyURL
- Google Maps keeps getting cooler
- Sightseeing, the Google way.
