Good things coming

Wow. Conference singups are completely over for me. Report cards have all been mailed. We had our school auction on Saturday. So what does that mean? I can start getting back to normal life again!

I’ve got a ton to write about and a ton to podcast out, and you should be seeing a steady trickle over the next week. The ICE conference has come and gone and I have a TON of audio to edit. Every session I went to gave me permission to record it and my brand new Altoids tin iPod battery worked great! It will be a massive editing job, but I plan to release it in pieces over the next few weeks. I posted up my notes from the sessions I attended, but I’d really like to go back and edit them into some cleaner posts.

IceCasting was an interesting experiment. Although only a few people posted on the site, people were very interested in the idea. I think it has a lot of merit to it and I definitely learned from the experience. I think it has great potential, and I’ll definitely be experimenting more with the idea in the future.

I sold my iPaq 6315 last week and recieved my new Siemens SX66. This Pocket PC is absolutely superior to the iPaq in nearly every way. So far I’m loving it and have started to stock it up with tools. Two of my favorites so far are Protone Voice Recorder and Vito SoundEditor. Both are incredible voice recorders. The recording quality is much better than the iPod with the Griffin iTalk. I’ve started doing some recording with it and have been very pleased with the results. If it sounds as good when converted to MP3 and broadcasted, then I may just use that as one of my primary means of recording. I’d love to be able to do more CarCasting without it sounding like garbage. I think this may make it realistic to do so.

Finally, Podcast Alley has changed their site quite a bit. Amongst other things, whenever you click on a show it shows you a list of all the podcasts they have listed in their feed. I find that to be incredibly useful! Podcasting is great because people can try things, experiment, and even fail without worrying about wasting anything but time. What I love about seeing what’s in the feed right there is that I can see how often someone broadcasts, and when their last podcast was. It also has a player built in so you can preview podcasts! The changes to the site are great for determining who you want to subscribe to subscribe to and who you might want to pass on. He really does a great job with the site.

Oh yeah, he also reset all the voting. So if you enjoy the show, the easiest way to support it is to click here and vote for me! Feel free to leave me a comment as well. I love the feedback!
