One time I was in Rio de Janeiro and had the most amazing stuff on my laptop. My battery was running down quickly and I was looking for a 110 V outlet (they use both). Just as I found one, it died, nothing saved!! Man, is that ever true, save, save, save.

I have this obsession that I save the contents of my laptop on an external hard disk every weekend. I was flying to another state for an important business presentation when I realized that I left my laptop on my desk at home. The only thing I have inside the bag was the hard disk. This way you will refrain from confusing yourself as to which file is current. Also, you will be able to have more available disk space in case you need it urgently.
