Another author visits students’ weblogs

Take a quick look at this post on Edublog Insights and tell me you don’t get chills. Can anyone deny how powerful it is to connect students and authors together for a shared educational experience? We just had the author Eric Kimmel come to our school. It was an incredible visit and there’s nothing like face to face time, but the reality is not every school has the ability to bring in authors. However, I’d be willing to bet that every author has access to the internet. And most authors of children’s literature would probably be thrilled to read what students’ have to say about their work.

What fantastic opportunities the internet is offering for schools. I was just talking to a staff member at my school about all the avenues available to schools on the internet, the vast majority of which are free. If schools are willing to allow themselves to move forward into the 21st century, the possibilities are simply endless.

Hi Steve,

It’s great how schools are connecting with “real life people” outside of the classroom…like the author you mentioned on your blog. We too at K-F have much to be proud of, we are in the process of partnering with Parsons and New School of Design. Recently, their professor answered my journalism students’ questions. http://kfbroadcastjournalism.blogspot.com

Best,

This is a great page. And the contents are really that worth reading. I will add this to my own library
