Got extra cell phone minutes? Drop me a line.
The latest addition to my podcast? 1-20-MAC-BAG-42. That should be the number to leave me a voicemail that gets delievered straight to my email. Slick, eh? The number itself was generously donated by the still free site K7.net, and I used Phonespell.org to figure out that the number also spells out 20-Mac-A-Cigar. Of course, if you don’t like looking at the little letters, you could just dial 206-222-2442. So if you’re bored and have free minutes, drop me a line.
Ok, seriously though, the reason that I did this was because of a comment that Will made a few weeks ago on his podcast. He pointed out that one of the great things about weblogs is that when you read something and want to respond to it, you just have to click on “Add a Comment” and throw your two cents in. This is a step in that direction. When people listen to the podcast, if they hear something that strikes a chord they can dial up that number and respond to what I’ve said. Then, in my next podcast or on the blog, I can put up their response and respond to it, continuing the conversation. At least that’s the goal. The main purpose is simply so that people can respond to what they’re hearing without having to be at a computer to do so. I listen to podcasts in my car, and often leave myself messages at home reminding myself to respond to various things I’ve heard. However, when a podcaster has voicemail like this, I can respond to them directly.
You get the point. Just one more way for everyone to keep the conversation going.
206-Mac-A-Cigar. How cool is that?
My voicemail number
Thanks to a tip from Steve (who seems to know a lot of things about a lot of things I don’t know a lot about), I’ve got myself free voicemail from K7.net. And it’s a cool number, tool. Now, you, the perusing weblog reader, may make audio contact wit…
quite enjoyed your work .
