Google Print

add

Ok, I’ve read a bit about Google’s ambition to scan in every word in print and make it all searchable, but I didn’t realize that we could actually play around with the beta! It’s called Google Print, but it’s actually built right into the Google search engine. Go to Google and type in “Books Macintosh”, and amongst other things, you get a hit about Crossing Platforms published by O’Reilly press. You don’t get the whole book, just a few pages, and since it’s a graphic, not straight text, you can’t just copy and paste from it. Yes, I’m sure creative students will find ways around this, but it still is a decent plagarism deterent for the lazy. Lots of potential there, I hope it keeps expanding it’s ‘library’.
