KidzLog - Weblog publishing for kids.
“>
Found a cute little piece of software this morning called KidzLog. It’s basically an all in one blog package that creates all the files your blog needs and uploads them via FTP. It’s gui is very cute and simple, and definitely kid friendly. I’d suggest switching the location of the delete and new icons in the tool bar simply to conform with standard software layout, but other than that I really like the simplicity of it! I’d love to see a version that’s just a desktop app that publishes to current blogging software. We use Manila for our teachers and students (or at least we WILL use Manila for them!) and it would be nice if this could just serve as an easy to use frontend for younger students. The company also makes a mail client for younger kids as well, but I haven’t had a chance to check that out yet. They say that they have academic pricing available, and I’m waiting to hear back from them with what the structure is. If they provide a reasonable site license, then this certainly has some potential!
The logo is just a little creepy though. I’d work on that one if I were them

Got back an email about academic pricing. Very reasonable per seat prices. Of course, I’d love to see it turned into a web interface and let it be a front end for other blogging software. Yes, I want it all! but on the whole, I think this has some potential. I really like the simplified gui for younger students.
