Information Overload
Ok, it’s all starting to spiral out of control. I have my bloglines account. I used to read my daily blogs from there. However, then I started using Firefox, and the live bookmarks feature is so convenient that I just created live bookmarks for all the blogs I read regularly. I can scroll through it so quick that I really don’t even visit bloglines anymore. However, I do subscribe to sites with bloglines, because it populates my blogrolls (the list of links to the left). Unfortunately, if I find a choice new blog, I then have to create a live bookmark for it in Firefox and also subscribe to it in Bloglines. As if that isn’t complicated enough, I also have the ability to recieve RSS feeds on my winksite. It’s great because when I’m stuck in traffic, or waiting for a menu at a diner, I can read up on my blogs. Unfortunately, that means that there’s a third place I need to subscribe to rss feeds.
So, my question to all of you out there is, now that I have so much information available at my fingertips, how do I maintain it all easily? How can I keep it all straight in so many different places so that it’s all relatively seemless as well as painless? If anyone has an answer I’d love to hear it. I’m reading more and more blogs on a daily basis, keeping things simple has become extradinarily difficult.
