The power of CSS

add

Tonight I avoided steak for sizzle, went for glitter not gold and avoided content entirely. But I did learn some valuable new tools. Since I’m back on pMachine rather than Manila, I can’t just plug in themes anymore. Instead, I decided to teach myself a little bit about CSS. It’s MUCH cooler than I initially thought it was. I need to include some links to the various sites that I used as reference, but for now I’m just going to point out The CSS Zen Garden. I took this CSS file and tweaked it, played with it and imitated it until I understood it. And I finally think that I really am starting to understand it. Then I took the graphics, and either modified them a bit (in the case of the bullets) or replaced them entirely (in the case of the background banner at the top). I’m really getting a kick out of css though. I had no idea that you could create keyboard shortcuts for web pages, nor that you could do easy hover over text with css. No javascript required. I’d do it right now but I’m exhausted. Anyway, tomorrow I will return to real content again.
